What We Offer

Casting Services

A Director or Producer sends us a breakdown of your project — including character descriptions, location, shoot dates, pay rate, and any other relevant details. We then distribute that casting information to all relevant actors in our ever growing database, and BCC you on the email as proof of distribution. Interested actors will contact you directly. This setup gives you the benefits of working with an agency, without the complications of actually going through one.

Crew Recommendations

Need to round out your crew? We maintain an extensive roster of local talent, including DP’s, Camera Operators, Production Assistants, and motivated film students. This resource is ideal for filling individual roles within your existing team. For projects requiring a full-scale production crew, we are happy to provide recommendations for trusted local production partners.

If you have a script, acting reel, or short film you’d like feedback on, reach out and ask about our consulting services.

Quarterly Film Productions

Every quarter, Tricky Ink selects one short film script from nationwide submissions to move into production with a professional crew. To ensure a smooth production process, scripts must be under 15 pages and—particularly for initial projects—should be easily reproducible within Sonoma County by utilizing minimal casts, few locations, and no complex VFX or stunts.

We are specifically seeking thought-provoking stories from underrepresented communities that leave a lasting impact on the audience. Once a script is chosen, a team is hired to work within a defined budget and timeline, following a unique tiered on-set hierarchy. By creating this repeatable framework, we can efficiently scale and increase our production output in the future.

Workshops

We are developing a workshop series that will bridge the gap between film school and working on set, covering topics that aren’t currently explored in any local film schools. This series will be half in person, half online, hosted in Santa Rosa. Details coming soon!

Morgan is an excellent producer, when we worked together on a short film, he kept everything on schedule and zero stress with everything planned out. Would recommend!

Tricky Ink has always been such a good resource. Fostering collaboration and connecting the different areas of filmmaking in the North Bay area. Looking forward to working and collaborating with Morgan in the future!
